In late 2006, the TC Library began to be 'attacked' by spam robots, which posted entries to our catalogue (sometimes adding new works, sometimes modifying existing entries) which linked to commercial or inappropriate URLs. In early 2007 we added a 'CAPTCHA' interface to our forms, which required users to read an image with random text and numeric characters when posting or updating entries:

This week (while on vacation between terms), I've copied the user account system from the new Discussion Forum, to permit our registered users to add or modify entries in the TC Library catalogue when they are logged in as registered users, as well:

This will remove the CAPTCHA interface entirely from registered users, and significantly improve the accessibility of the site for visually-impaired users and the speed of adding or updating works for our frequent users:

Let me know if you experience any problems with this usability/accessibility improvement.
Best,
Geoff Sauer
