Abstract:
This paper shows how drawings, images and icons can be effectively used to help technical writers reach those readers who are often reluctant to read written
instructions. It also describes some of the positive results of effective visual communications on documents undergoing translation.
Finally, it gives background information on the
importance of visual communication and lists some basic
rules for producing effective instructional pictures.
